The base is fabricated from high-mass cast iron to ensure a low center of gravity and high resistance to mechanical tipping. Its three-point geometry provides stable contact with the bench surface, compensating for minor surface irregularities and enhancing overall stability.

The base features a central threaded bore, machined to accept a 13 mm (1/2 in.) diameter rod with standard threading. The rod is composed of plated carbon steel, offering moderate corrosion resistance and sufficient rigidity under typical lab loading conditions. It has a total length of 500 mm (20 in.), suitable for vertical mounting of various laboratory fixtures such as clamps, rings, and holders.

To resist degradation in chemically active environments, the base is coated with a chemical-resistant enamel paint, which provides a protective barrier against spills and vapors encountered in routine laboratory operations.
